Senator MACKLIN —On behalf of the Leader of the Australian Democrats, Senator Chipp, I give the following contingent notices of motion and on my own behalf I give the following notice of motion:

Senator Chipp:

I give contingent notices of motion as follows:

(Contingent on the President proceeding to the placing of business on any day)-That so much of the Standing Orders be suspended as would prevent the Leader of the Australian Democrats (Senator Chipp) moving a motion relating to the order of business on the Notice Paper.

(Contingent on any Bill originating in the Senate having been read a first time)-That so much of the Standing Orders be suspended as would prevent the Bill being passed through its remaining stages without delay.

(Contingent on any Bill being reported from a Committee of the Whole)-That so much of the Standing Orders be suspended as would prevent the Bill being passed through its remaining stages without delay.

(Contingent on the Senate proceeding to the consideration of Government Papers pursuant to Sessional Order)-That so much of the Sessional Order relating to the consideration of Government Papers be suspended as would prevent the Leader of the Australian Democrats (Senator Chipp) moving a motion relating to the order in which the Papers are called on by the President.

Senator Macklin:

I give notice that, on the next day of sitting, I shall move:

(1) That so much of the Standing Orders be suspended as would prevent the succeeding provision of this resolution having effect.

(2) That the following Bills be restored to the Notice Paper and that consideration of each of the Bills be resumed at the stage reached in the last session of Parliament:
