Senator JONES —I give notice that, on the next day of sitting, I shall move:

That the Senate-

(a) calls on the Leader and members for the Federal Opposition to display some genuine concern for pensioners by modifying their present campaign tactic of trying to extort the votes of elderly Australians by deliberately terrifying them; and

(b) urges the Opposition to present its case against the assets test in a rational manner that will not cause unnecessary discomfort, fear and panic among the elderly for the dubious purpose of short-term political gain.
