Senator BUTTON (Leader of the Government in the Senate) —by leave-A number of honourable senators have raised important issues. I shall refer the matters raised by Senator MacGibbon to the appropriate Minister. Senator Townley spoke on two issues, the second one regarding engineering faculties. I must say that I agree very much with Senator Townley in the basic thrust of the remarks he made. Of course, governments would like to do many things which cannot always be done at the time they would like to do them. However, Senator Townley's proposal is a matter for serious consideration. With regard to the matter raised by Senator Kilgariff, regrettably I cannot investigate it further because I have no idea what he is talking about and, with the greatest respect, I suspect nor does he.

Senator MacGibbon —I will explain it if you like.

Senator BUTTON —The honourable senator invited him and he would not accept the invitation. There was nothing in what Senator Kilgariff said that I could have investigated, but that is a difficulty, I suppose, with which we are all confronted from time to time.
