Senator GEORGES(6.13) —I want to put a few words on the record. I believe that the report I sought has been tabled. I sought the tabling of that report to add to the other legal opinions that are available. I put on record my concern that, no matter what motions the Senate passes, a Senate committee's sitting or reporting may still be subject to challenge. The Attorney-General ( Senator Gareth Evans) said that the motions may go through. They may do so, but I do not think they add anything because, if anyone feels strongly about the matter, he will challenge any attempt by a committee to sit or, for that matter, to report. It seems that it is up to any person who may feel that he is or could be aggrieved or in some way disadvantaged by committees sitting or reporting to take the initiative.

Question resolved in the affirmative.
