Senator JACK EVANS — I give notice that, on the next day of sitting, I shall move:

That the Senate-

(a) condemns the election promise of the Leader of the Federal Opposition, Mr Peacock, to allow the Franklin Dam to be built;

(b) notes that the Franklin Dam would obliterate Tasmania's last wild river and irreparably damage an area already included on the World Heritage List; and

(c) condemns the Federal Opposition's total disregard for an area of Australia' s environment that is of outstanding universal significance and their failure to ensure Australia's observance of its international environmental obligations.
