Senator SCOTT (Leader of the National Party of Australia)(9.49) -It is reasonable to suggest that the Commonwealth of Australia Gazette, as it is a journal of some significance as Senator Macklin says, would be monitored by probably all the responsible newspapers in Australia. Quite clearly, matters that are of significance in it from time to time will be exposed in that way. If one selects one newspaper only in all other States it will be a question of which newspaper, how widely it will be read in the community and even to what parts of the community it is basically directed. So probably, all in all, the Bill as it exists is sufficient to guarantee a public knowledge of any proposition in this area.
