Senator KILGARIFF —I give notice that, on the next day of sitting, I shall move:

That the Senate is of the opinion that, in light of the high unemployment and lack of employment opportunities in outback Aboriginal settlements, the Federal Government should upgrade the Commonwealth employment program in these settlements to create employment in areas such as garden projects, tree planting and road building so that the Aboriginal people, and in particular young Aboriginal people, are able to work and become more self-sufficient rather than remain reliant on pensions and unemployment benefits as their only means of subsistence.
