The DEPUTY PRESIDENT —Is notice of motion No. 132 standing in the name of Senator Missen relating to the powers and proceedings of the Parliamentary Joint Committee on the National Crime Authority formal or not formal?

Senator Missen-Mr Deputy President, I say it is not formal because at this stage a message from the House of Representatives is listed on the Notice Paper today which appears to be in the same form as my notice of motion. So it is not formal at this stage.

The DEPUTY PRESIDENT —Order! A message has been received from the House of Representatives relating to the powers and proceedings of the Parliamentary Joint Committee on the National Crime Authority. Copies of the message have been distributed to honourable senators.

Motion (by Senator Grimes) agreed to:

That consideration of the message from the House of Representatives order of the day for a later hour this day.
