Senator Watson asked the Minister for Social Security, upon notice, on 24 August 1984:

Are goods and furniture held by a pensioner on behalf of other people (for example, a relative overseas) assessable under the assets test guidelines if that pensioner's assets exceed the set limits.

Senator Grimes —The answer to the honourable senator's question is as follows:

No. Only assets owned by a pensioner will be taken into account.
