Senator WALSH (Minister for Resources and Energy) —I seek leave to make a personal explanation.

Leave granted.

Senator WALSH —It was not until I spoke with some of my colleagues that I realised that I had not made a fact clear or explicit in my reply. I said, as accurately as I can remember it, that Senator Chaney's conspiracy theory was ill -founded because the collection of photocopies of documents had been together for a considerable time and I had tabled all of them. That is correct. The Opposition apparently was referring principally-and I did not explicitly answer this, although implicitly I answered in the way which I have stated-to a particular cheque, the number of which I do not have, but the cheque is well known. The Opposition was apparently alleging that I have in my possession a photocopy of the back of that butt. I do not have, and have never had, a photocopy of the back of that butt; nor, if I remember correctly, do I have a photocopy of the back of a butt of one of the other cheques tabled.
