Senator HARRADINE —Mr Deputy President, I claim to have been misrepresented again by the ignorant Senator Walsh.

The DEPUTY PRESIDENT —Order! You will withdraw that remark.

Senator HARRADINE —I withdraw the word 'ignorant' and substitute the untruthful Senator Walsh. I seek leave to make a further statement.

Leave granted.

Senator HARRADINE —The position in respect of sub-section 3 (12) last December was entirely different from what it was in 1982 because the 'innocence clause' was not in the legislation in 1982. At that time I considered that sub-section 3 (12) was not necessary, but once it went in it provided an expectation for taxpayers, if we like, to have their assessments made accordingly. Therefore to take that out and remove that right was an entirely different matter altogether, and that is why I voted that way. It is now two minutes to the time when the truth will be known. The Minister for Resources and Energy (Senator Walsh) has shot through, but I hope to see him on the steps of Parliament House.
