Senator GEORGES(8.13) —I have just read this letter and I have listened to Senator Missen. He seems to be giving the wrong interpretation of it . Obviously Mr Temby does not want to proceed because the Senate has set up this Select Committee. That is the reason; there was no other reason. That should be made clear. If the proposition of the Government had been agreed to, Mr Temby would not have had any difficulty. The difficulty Mr Temby faces, of course, is that the Opposition, for purely political reasons, set up this peculiar type of committee, which we have debated at length and I do not wish to go over that ground. Let us make it clear-Mr Temby's difficulties were created by the Opposition in setting up that peculiar committee, which is now in operation.
