Senator WATSON —Is the Minister for Veterans' Affairs not concerned that at present there are no provisions under the veterans' affairs Act for the continued payment of a single pension for the widow of a deceased serviceman? Is not the Minister unhappy that the present arrangements for transfer of pension forms imposes an unnecessary burden on such people at a time of bereavement? When will the Minister investigate this anomalous position regarding widows of service pensioners and move to alter it? Further, will the assets test be exactly the same for aged and service pensioners when we have seen similar, but not necessarily identical, wording?

Senator GIETZELT —I think I will have to take that question on notice.
