Senator BOSWELL —I give notice that, on the next day of sitting, I shall move:

That the Senate-

(a) notes the desperate plight of the sugar industry in Queensland;

(b) condemns the Labor Government's broken promise of implementing an underwriting scheme for the sugar industry;

(c) notes that the Queensland Government's sympathetic assistance given to the sugar industry is twice the amount given by the Federal Labor Government in the same period; and

(d) condemns the Federal Government for its total disregard for the cane farmers, mill workers and small business people who depend on the sugar industry for jobs and livelihoods.
