Senator Chipp
asked the Attorney-General, upon notice, on 16 December 1983:
Has the Prime Minister received a satisfactory response from the Chief Minister of the Northern Territory, after his request for reconsideration of a number of provisions in the new Northern Territory Criminal Code; if so, does the Government intend to advise the Governor-General to disallow the Code before 1 January 1984 when it will take effect unless this action is taken (see answer to question No. 461, Hansard, 30 November 1983, page 3080).
Senator Gareth Evans
—The answer to the honourable senator's question is as follows:
I refer the honourable senator to the reply I provided to Senator Robertson on 29 March 1984 (Senate Hansard, pages 876-877).
