Senator BOSWELL —I associate myself with other senators in this condolence motion. Kevin Cairns was not a member of my Party, but he was a great coalitionist and was recognised as such in Queensland. I was fortunate to attend Kevin Cairns's funeral. A great many people were present, and it was obvious that he was held in the highest esteem in Queensland, in the Liberal Party of Australia and in politics in general. It would be a great and fitting honour to the man to name the road into Brisbane Airport the Kevin Cairns Drive. I shall support that move in every way I can.

I did not know Kevin Cairns as well as Senator Martin, Senator MacGibbon or some other senators, but I, too, met him on aeroplanes-he must have been a frequent traveller-and spoke to him quite often when travelling. Kevin Cairns was a very friendly man and always gave me advice as a new member of the Senate and new parliamentarian. He leaves a wife and a fairly large family who deeply loved him. I extend my sympathy to his wife and family.
