(Question No. 902)

Senator Messner asked the Minister for Social Security, upon notice, on 29 May 1984:

(1) Were any forms printed relating to the introduction of the Government's proposed Income and Assets Test.

(2) What happened to those forms after the establishment of the Gruen Panel of Inquiry.

(3) Are copies of the forms still available; if so, would the Minister for Social Security make a copy of the form available to me.

Senator Grimes —The answer to the honourable senator's question is as follows:

(1) 200 'sample' entitlement review forms were printed (100 'abbreviated' review forms and 100 more detailed review forms); these forms were used primarily by a research company (Lenehan Lynton Bloom) to assess pensioner reactions to the draft questionnaires.

(2) Most of the forms have been retained by the research company. A small number were retained by the Department primarily for record purposes.

(3) A copy of each of the sample forms has been made available to the honourable senator.
