Senator CRICHTON-BROWNE(10.04) —I do not want to persist-


Senator Grimes —You do.


Senator CRICHTON-BROWNE —It is a very important provision. It would hold a corporation responsible for an offence which had been committed by somebody quite unrelated to that corporation, operating on a contractual basis and-


Senator Grimes —They will have to be careful whom they hire, won't they?


Senator CRICHTON-BROWNE —But they may not be hiring the person directly. An individual could commit an offence and the corporation would be held responsible . I think that is an intolerable situation. As I understand it, it is unique in a contract.
