Senator CHANEY (Leader of the Opposition)(10.02) —Mr Acting Deputy President, we would like some indication from the Government as to whether it wishes to proceed with the Dividend Recoupment Tax Bill 1983 [No. 2] 1984. The first Bill has, of course, been defeated. It may be, therefore, that we do not need to proceed with the second Bill and that it will be withdrawn because of the fact that the Senate has dealt with the other Bill. In any event, if the Government is not clear, perhaps we could have a motion to move to the next item, which is the Insurance Contracts Bill 1984. In any event, we would like someone on the Government side to let us know what the Government wishes to do, so that the Opposition may respond.
