Senator GARETH EVANS (Attorney-General)(10.15) —I am not sure that this is here used as a term of art to pick up the new definitions in the Commonwealth Electoral Act. There, as I recall, 'registered political party' rather than ' recognised political party' is the terminology. So I do not think the new Senator Brian Harradine Group, new party extraordinaire, is likely to derive much nourishment from the language of clause 3, paragraph (f). I do not think Senator Harradine, although it is in the category of 'good try', will really get much help by way of immediately acquiring large bundles of extra staff under the procedures here set out by virtue of his new found status or intended new status as a political party.
