Senator GIETZELT (Minister for Veterans' Affairs)(3.22) —Yes. The Australian Democrats did make a request to the Minister for Territories and Local Government (Mr Uren). They suggested that there was a case for the elected representatives, wherever they be, but certainly if they are the Northern Territory representatives, to have ready access to charter provisions. To that extent the Minister said he was prepared to recommend to the Remuneration Tribunal that additional facilities be made available for the elected representatives. On behalf of the Government, I give Senator Macklin the assurance that we will not, in any way, want to disadvantage the representatives or the citizens. An opportunity will be provided to them to meet their elected representatives.

Bill agreed to.

Bill reported without amendment; report adopted.
