To the Honourable the President and members of the Senate in Parliament assembled. We, the undersigned citizens of Australia, respectfully showeth that the Polish People's Republic authorities has not honoured its agreement to the Helsinki Convention (signed in 1975) and United Nations Human Rights Pact ( ratified in 1977), particularly with regard to the following issues:

Freeing of all political prisoners;

Respect for all citizens and human rights;

The right to form free trade unions;

Removal of censorship;

Permission for Polish citizens to travel abroad especially to allow family reunions;

We humbly request that Parliament of the Commonwealth of Australia, through proper diplomatic channels, raise in the United Nations Forum a strong request to the Polish People's Republic authorities that it honour its obligation agreed to the Helsinki Convention (1975) and Human Rights Pact (1977),

And your petitioners as in duty bound will ever pray.
