Senator DURACK(10.53) —Both the Opposition and the Australian Democrats have proposed amendments to this clause in very much similar terms; namely, to control the ability of the Federal Minister to withdraw a reference once it has been given. In the spirit of co-operation which is so evident this morning, I will yield to Senator Chipp on this because I think his amendment is preferable to my own.
