Senator CHANEY (Leader of the Opposition) —I give notice that, on the next day of sitting, I shall move:

That the Senate, while recognising the need to protect sacred sites and objects of special significance to Aboriginals and Torres Strait Islanders, calls upon the Government to reconsider its approach in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Heritage (Interim Protection) Bill and to withdraw the Bill to enable proper consultation to take place between the Commonwealth Government, the State governments, Aboriginals and affected industries, including the rural and mining industries.
