Senator BOSWELL(5.41) —I wish to ask the Minister for Veterans' Affairs (Senator Gietzelt) whether he can help me on a couple of matters. On behalf of the people in the bayside areas of Brisbane, who are experiencing some difficulty with low flying aircraft from the Brisbane runway-the Eagle Farm runway-I ask: Is 3,000 feet still the minimum required height for commercial aircraft on arrival and departure patterns for Eagle Farm? Do departmental officers monitor these flight patterns? Can the Minister say what action, if any , has been taken by the departmental officers to see that flight approach and departure patterns divert aircraft away from Brisbane's bayside suburbs? I can tell the Minister from personal experience that the planes flying over these areas at a very low height are causing many problems to people in those areas. It puts their television sets on the blink and causes much concern. It would involve only a small deviation for aircraft to fly out over the bay to rectify the problem.
