Senator GARETH EVANS (Attorney-General)(4.11) —Mr Chairman, I am advised that the Department of Aviation has approved the aircraft to operate with the SLAR, that it does meet Department of Aviation requirements. If there is some concern over and above that which perhaps ought to be drawn to the attention of the Department of Aviation no doubt Senator MacGibbon will do so. But that is the best I am able to offer in my capacity as representing the Special Minister of State. I also remind the Committee that whatever else is in the supplementary estimates, there is no appropriation for coastal surveillance. I suggest that even though my last point of order did not hold, Mr Chairman, that one might have some chance.
