Senator GARETH EVANS —During Question Time earlier today, Senator Lewis asked me , for reasons that remain obscure, about supposed contracts between Mr Paul Landa, the New South Wales Attorney-General, and those working within my Department on the drafting of the National Crime Authority Bill. I have now been advised by the two draftsmen involved with the legislation, namely, the First Parliamentary Counsel, Mr Geoff Kolts, and Mr Tom Reid, that neither of them have had contact of any kind with Mr Landa.
