Senator CHANEY (Leader of the Opposition)(6.26) —I move:

That the Senate take note of the papers.

I am sure that debate on these documents will provide a useful opportunity for us to look at the programs which are required to ensure that Australia's water resources are adequate. It is an unfortunate fact that a series of programs, which had the support of the previous Government, were discontinued by the new Government when it first came to office. Adelaide is one of those Australian cities which has been adversely affected by that government decision. I do not think that 25 minutes past six is the time to debate that issue. I simply give an indication that it is a matter which the Opposition will wish to pursue in debate at some later time. I seek leave to continue my remarks later.

Leave granted; debate adjourned.
