Senator COATES —by leave-On behalf of the Standing Committee on Regulations and Ordinances, I present a report on certain regulations and an ordinance.

Ordered that the report be printed.

Senator COATES —by leave-I move:

That the Senate take note of the report.

At this stage I will speak briefly and then seek leave to continue my remarks later. The situation with regard to this report is that the debate on it and other matters on the Notice Paper has to be dealt with tonight. That is why I sought the early tabling of the report on these censorship matters. The report also contains a dissenting report from four members of the Committee. Copies of the report are not available to every honourable senator at present but should be available in half an hour or so. At present copies are available to each of the members of the Committee, the Attorney-General (Senator Gareth Evans), the shadow Attorney-General and the spokesperson for the Australian Democrats. I seek leave to continue my remarks later.

Leave granted; debated adjourned.
