Senator Sir JOHN CARRICK(5.28) —This statement which has come to hand tonight brings into focus a very important matter. It is a statement which the Attorney-General (Senator Gareth Evans) would not admit existed in the first place. Then he said he would not admit to the accuracy of the substance of the publication. It is not competent for us to debate this important statement tonight. It needs to be debated in depth. Therefore, I seek leave to continue my remarks later.

Leave granted; debate adjourned.
