Senator PETER RAE(11.31) —I suggest to the Committee that the same procedure be adopted as was adopted in relation to the Bill which has just been dealt with, and that to save time the same points be made. They apply in exactly the same way. That is, that in relation to the definition of exempt works, the first four criteria be left in the Bill and the last two criteria be deleted, and that the provision for retrospectivity to 12 February be deleted.

As I understand it, Senator Jack Evans has drafted amendments to that effect. I have such amendments, too, but I am happy for him to move his amendments, and the Opposition will support that course of action. Judging from the attitude adopted by the Minister for Veterans' Affairs (Senator Gietzelt) in relation to the last matter of difference, I hope that it will not be necessary to divide. The points have been made, and we may be able to get through the matter quickly without further speeches. I think that all the speeches that have been made apply equally to this Bill.

Amendments (by Senator Jack Evans)-by leave-agreed to:

(1) Page 1, clause 2, sub-clause (2), lines 10 and 11, leave out the sub-clause .

(2) Page 2, clause 3, paragraph (b), proposed definition of 'exempt works', paragraphs (e) and (f), lines 11 to 22, leave out the paragraphs.

Remainder of Bill-by leave-agreed to.

Bills, as amended, agreed to.
