Senator GARETH EVANS (Attorney-General)(6.45) —I am glad to say that this debate can now conclude on a note of genuine amicability because the Government has no difficulty at all with this amendment. It would give a degree of flexibility should experience show that the time limits need some adjustment. Although I have no formal authority from Caucus or anybody else to agree with the amendment, I readily acknowledge its utility and desirability and express no opposition to it.
