Mr ABBOTT (WarringahLeader of the Opposition) (14:02): As the Prime Minister has just said, Pope Francis is the first Jesuit pope, he is the first South American pope and he is the first non-European pope in over a thousand years. He has lived in a simple apartment. He had ridden the bus to work. He has mostly cooked his own meals. He has regularly visited the poorer parts of Buenos Aires. In other words, he is a holy and simple man who has practised what he preached.
