Firearm Violence

To the Honourable the Speaker and Members of the House of Representatives

Firearm related violence in Australia is an ongoing issue which must be stopped.

We therefore ask Gun amnesties and buyback schemes must be performed in all states and territories on a regular basis to reduce firearms in our communities. Federal and State/Territory legislation must also be strengthened to reduce firearm ownership and further restrict licensing. Resources should be increased for law enforcement to enable the prevention of illegal importation and ownership of firearms. Penalties for firearm offenses should be dramatically increased to further discourage illegal firearm activity.
