Mr TURNBULL (Leader of the Opposition) (2:06 PM) —on indulgence—The opposition wishes to associated itself with the Prime Minister’s remarks. There is a bipartisan commitment to Australia’s mission in Afghanistan. The elections are of vital importance and we support the efforts of the Australian troops and other personnel in Afghanistan in ensuring that the terrorist forces are suppressed, in enabling the Afghan national security forces to take over responsibility for their nation’s own security and, in particular at this time, in ensuring that the election is conducted with safety and integrity. We commend the Prime Minister on his remarks and support the government in its efforts in Afghanistan.
