Mr ROBB (3:14 PM) —My question is again to the Minister Assisting the Minister for Climate Change. I refer the minister to the Minister for Resources and Energy’s previous answer:

… there will continue to be engagement with respect to the final framework of both the CPRS and the renewable energy legislation.

Minister, when can the parliament expect to see the final framework?

Mr COMBET (Minister for Defence Personnel, Materiel and Science and Minister Assisting the Minister for Climate Change) —The government, of course, is extremely concerned to ensure that the coal industry has appropriate treatment in relation to the CPRS. We have been consulting, as my colleague the Minister for Resources and Energy said, with the coal industry for some period of time. We are satisfied that the assistance that I referred to in my earlier answer appropriately addresses the assistance that is necessary for the coalmines with the highest methane intensity. Dialogue will continue with the coal industry, as it always does in relation to key policy matters.
