Dr SOUTHCOTT (2:29 PM) —My question is to the Prime Minister. I refer the Prime Minister to the communications protocol for the $4.9 billion purchasing of employment services. The communications protocol specifically states:

All persons, and in particular those who have been identified as being in positions of potential influence, are required to refer or direct any purchasing related enquiries or questions to the afore mentioned hotline, website or email address.

Can the Prime Minister confirm that these probity guidelines were adhered to in the government’s $4.9 billion purchasing of employment services?

Mr RUDD (Prime Minister) —I thank the honourable member for his question. Those guidelines exist. My assumption is that they have been properly adhered to. Should there be anything contrary to that, I am sure that we will inform the House.
