Dr Southcott asked the Minister for Education, in writing, on 2 December 2008:

In respect of the Productivity Places Program: how many places were accepted in August 2008 by (a) New South Wales, (b) Victoria, (c) Western Australia, (d) Queensland, (e) South Australia, (f) Tasmania, (g) the Northern Territory, and (h) the Australian Capital Territory.


Ms Gillard (Minister for Education, Minister for Employment and Workplace Relations and Minister for Social Inclusion) —The answer to the honourable member’s question is as follows:

All States and Territories have signed (or agreed to sign) a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to deliver training places to existing workers under Phase II of the Productivity Places Program. On August 22 2008, the Queensland Government signed a MoU to deliver 2884 training places to existing workers under Phase II of the Productivity Places Program.
