Dr Southcott asked the Minister for Employment Participation, in writing, on 1 December 2008:

What: (a) was the expenditure on advertising for the Work Experience Placement Program in the 2007-08 financial year; and (b) is the forecast expenditure on advertising for the Work Experience Placement Program in the 2008-09 financial year.

Mr Brendan O’Connor (Minister for Employment Participation) —The answer to the honourable member’s question is as follows:

(a)   The Work Experience Placement Program is one of a range of services available to Job Network, Disability Employment Network and Vocational Rehabilitation Services. There is no funding for advertising or promotional material for this program. WEP is promoted through Departmental communication channels including the workplace.gov website and WEP Guidelines for Employment Service Providers which are placed on the Job Network secure web site.

(b)   There is no forecast expenditure for the Work Experience Placement Program advertising for the 2008-09 financial year.
