Mr Simpkins ask the Minister for Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs, in writing, on 12 November 2008:

How many cases exist of multiple carers for one person, with more than one of these carers receiving, in full, the: (a) Carer Payment; and (b) Carer Allowance.

Ms Macklin (Minister for Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs) —The answer to the honourable member’s question is as follows:

As at 28 November 2008 there were 1,009 adult care receivers and 120 child care receivers who have two carers receiving Carer Payment.

Data is not available to determine whether their carers are receiving full or part rate

Carer Payment.

Data is also not available to indicate the number of adult care receivers and child care receivers who have two carers receiving Carer Allowance.
