Mrs IRWIN (3:45 PM) —Mr Speaker, can you confirm that prebooked visits by schoolchildren to the parliament next week have been cancelled due to presidential visits? If this is the case, could you please explain how the security of the parliament is threatened by children from such schools as Central Coast Grammar in the electorate of Dobell, Trinity Grammar in the electorate of Kooyong, Monte Sant Angelo Mercy College in the electorate of North Sydney and Blairmont Public School in the electorate of my colleague the member for Werriwa? Why are Australian children being locked out of their parliament?

The SPEAKER —I am not aware of the specific detail that the member for Fowler has referred to. I am aware of the fact that, because of the visits of both the President of the United States of America and the President of the People's Republic of China, access to House will not be as it normally is on Thursday and Friday of next week. I am happy to come back to her with the detail of it. I merely indicate that I am aware of changes to public access because of the visits of these two very prominent individuals.

Mrs IRWIN —Mr Speaker—

The SPEAKER —I recognise the member for Fowler on a supplementary question, as it were, although we would not want to—

Mrs IRWIN —It would be appreciated if you could get back to the House about that, because there are going to be a lot of disappointed children out there.

The SPEAKER —I reassure the member for Werriwa that I was not about to create a precedent by recognising the member for Fowler.
