Mr MURPHY (9:29 PM) —My constituent, Mr Ross Butler, writes in today's Sydney Morning Herald:

Could the Prime Minister and Communications Minister explain the benefits of legislation to fac-il-itate a greater concentration of media ownership?

He concludes:

Media diversity is of concern to me and others, but obviously is not an issue with a Government so bereft of conscience when it comes to its own manipulation of information.

I could not agree more with Mr Ross Butler of Rodd Point.

The DEPUTY SPEAKER (Hon. I.R. Causley)—Order! It being 9.30 p.m., the debate is interrupted.
