The SPEAKER (3:39 PM) —I am indicating that I have made a statement, with which I wrestled and with which I am presently comfortable. Members should therefore have the opportunity to take a closer look at that statement than simply hearing me read it in the House. The member for Lowe observed, by way of interjection earlier in the statement, that this was not a simple issue. Members may wish to raise it with me tomorrow. I cannot think of an instance when I have ever denied a member the right to ask me a question. I will revisit it tomorrow if members have raised something that causes me particular concern. I am not bound by a particular time constraint. I want to do what is in the long-term interests of the future members of the House of Representatives and their opportunities to continue to hold the executive to account.
