Mr BEAZLEY —If I might briefly be indulged, Mr Speaker, that is a generous response and we support it. Prime Minister, in light of the Borbidge government's attempt to secure political survival by negotiating with the One Nation Party, will you categorically rule out attempting to form a government that relies on the votes of One Nation MPs should both Labor and the coalition fail to secure a simple majority of members of the House of Representatives after the forthcoming election?


Mr HOWARD (Prime Minister) —In case it has escaped the attention of the Leader of the Opposition, I do not intend to finish with an equality of seats with you lot. We intend to beat you.
