Mr PUNCH(1.59) —In the short time available to me, I wish to inform the House that the Leader of the Opposition (Mr Howard), has been severely embarrassed following his visit to my local electorate on 10 April last. Asked by the St George Express about the possibility of a second runway into Botany Bay under his Administration, he said that he was less certain about the possibility of a second runway than he was of the curfew. The Paper stated:

Mr Howard said that this-

meaning the runway-

would be introduced only in a way that would not enhance the noise.

Madam SPEAKER —Order! It being 2 p.m., in accordance with standing order 106, as amended for this session, the debate is interrupted.

Question resolved in the affirmative.
