Mr DEPUTY SPEAKER (Mr Leo McLeay) —Madam Speaker has received a letter from the honourable member for O'Connor (Mr Tuckey) proposing that a definite matter of public importance be submitted to the House for discussion, namely:

The devastating effect on the living standards of Australian families resulting from the Government's housing and high interest rate policies.

I call upon those members who approve of the proposed discussion to rise in their places.
