Mr SHARP —by leave-The National Party of Australia welcomes the report of the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Expenditure. One of the great bugbears of rural Australians-particularly outback dwellers who find that many of what they would call local calls are charged at subscriber trunk dialling rates-is the difficulty they experience with telephone services. The National Party looks forward to the speedy delivery of the Government's response to the Parliament on a report the National Party hopes will lead to flexibility in charging arrangements for rural Australians to help them overcome the tyranny of distance from which outback Australians so frequently suffer.
