To the Honourable Speaker and Members of the House of Representatives in Parliament assembled. The humble petition of the undersigned citizens of Australia, respectfully showeth-

That we the undersigned request Commonwealth and State co-operation to-

(1) Give financial relief from our present hardship by way of:-

(a) one off Government Grant of $170,000.00; or

(b) interest free loan of the above amount.

To finalise a bank overdraft implemented to purchase said property from the Salvation Army after expiration of the leasing agreement.

(2) In six years of effective operation we have been in receipt of one grant of $2,300.00 for repairs of motor and gearbox of our much needed 22 seater bus (which we make available to community groups free of charge). We have treated and accommodated 620 people (including families) rendered homeless by chronic chemical abuse. This has been cost effective to the Government of N.S.W., saving up to $600.00 per week per person in alternative Government facilities of hospitals/gaols. This has been cost free to the Government of approximately $6 1/2 million in six years of operation.

(3) Lyndon House fills a gap in existing services of N.S.W. by accommodating families and maintaining the family as a unit. This is in accordance with existing religious and political philosophies of the family being the foundation of our social structure.

And your petitioners humbly pray that your Honourable House will respond to our plea.

And your petitioners as in duty bound, will ever pray.
