Mr Hodges asked the Minister for Health, upon notice, on 13 November 1986:

(1) What sum is proposed to be spent on advertising changes to the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme which came into effect on 1 November 1986.

(2) What forms of advertising will be used and what will each cost.

(3) Are any funds being spent on advertising the 45 items deleted from the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme for pensioners and concessional card holders; if so, what sum is being spent and in what forms are the advertisements appearing.


Dr Blewett —The answer to the honourable member's question is as follows:

(1) $484,000

(2) Pamphlets $343,000; Poster for Pharmacies $10,000; Newspaper and Magazine Advertising $131,000.
