(Question No. 4001)


Mr Braithwaite asked the Minister for Trade, upon notice, on 20 May 1986:

(1) How many (a) General Managers (b) Managers, does the Australian Trade Commission employ.

(2) What percentage of (a) General Managers (b) Managers, are public servants or on secondment from the Public Service.


Mr Dawkins —The answer to the honourable member's question is as follows:

(1) As at 20 May: (a) 6 and (b) 28.

At that time three General Manager positions were filled. The remaining positions were pending finalisation of recruitment action.

(2) Employees of the Australian Trade Commission are employed under the Australian Trade Commission Act 1985 and are covered by the mobility provisions of Part IV of the Public Service Act 1922.

Of the permanently filled positions the following represents the percentage occupied by officers who were appointed from the Public Service or are on secondment from the Public Service;

(a) 66%

(b) 70%.
